This Christmas, the City of Melbourne has partnered with Volter International to create a magical, uniquely Australian twist on the classic 12 Days of Christmas brought to life in glowing neon across the city.

Designed and produced in collaboration with the City of Melbourne, this vibrant trail features 12 custom neon installations, each celebrating an iconic Aussie animal in festive style:

  • A Kookaburra in a Gum Tree

    • City Square

  • Two Cockatoos

    • Chinese Museum

  • Three Pink Galahs

    • Brunetti’s Swanston Street

  • Four Dingos Dancing

    • Degraves Places

  • Five Kangaroos

    • Flinders Street Station (Elizabeth St Entrance)

  • Six Platypuses Paddling

    • Greek Centre

  • Seven Emus Eating

    • 140 Bourke Street

  • Eight Koalas Cuddling

    • Royal Lane Carpark

  • Nine Treefrogs Gifting

    • Immigration Museum

  • Ten Wombats Ringing

    • Manchester Lane

  • Eleven Lizards Leaping

    • Howey Place

  • Twelve Possums Playing

    • Hardware Lane Carpark

Scattered throughout Melbourne’s streets and laneways, the trail invites locals and visitors alike to explore the city in a new light by discovering each glowing creature one by one.
